I've decided Joey will just always beat me to announcing my own work... Anyway, check out our new paper in the Journal of Neuroscience!! We replicate and (significantly?) extend Thyer et al.'s finding of a generalizable WM load signal. But that's not all...

Next, we compared color and a much more cortically disparate visual feature: the coherence level of RDKs. Again, color almost perfectly generalized to the motion condition. Training and testing on motion had higher decodability, we think due to motion-specific signals.

Excited that my postdoctoral work with @jcmankoff was featured on Meta's blog post! We developed algorithms using surface EMG and movement sensors to enable people with motor disabilities to personalize gesture interactions. meta.com/blog/quest/sur…

Super excited this one is officially out! How/when can we suppress the urge to look at and attend to salient distracting information? Check out Han's thread for an explainer! "The temporal dynamics of visual attention" in JEP: General

When does modular structure emerge in neural networks? What are the consequences of this structure for learning and behavior? New work with Stefano Fusi answers these questions and more: doi.org/10.1101/2024.0… see 🧵below (1/11)
