What a fantastic way to round up our latest Kids Action Thru Science project, funded by @NorthTyneCA, and supported by Fiona Foundation. A day full of activities…and elected Metro Mayor Jamie Driscoll even answered some of the children’s climate change questions! Newcastle University

#KATS: India is back for the second round! 🇮🇳 This time we are working with 100 children from 3 community groups focussing on all things #WASH By the end of the project they will become #HygieneManagers and #WaterStorytellers…stay tuned! 💧🌏 Kids Action Thru Science Water Security Hub

#KATS: India is proud to be working with the #JanyaCollective and Water Security Hub to deliver hands-on education focussed on #SDG6 and #SDG13 🇮🇳💧🌏

Day 1 @ Priyanka Camp 🇮🇳 Children discussed the importance of water and hand washing, and told the story of Mr. E-coli 🦠 We then participated in the ‘Glitter Experiment’ to see how quickly germs spread from person to person. One step closer to becoming #HygieneManagers!💧

Day 2 @ Nizamuddin 🇮🇳 The kids went on a trip to the Nizamuddin Baoli and learnt about its history, culture and issues around flooding & pollution. VR was used to experience life below water too! Next time they will become #WaterStorytellers & create their own water stories! 💧

Day 3 @ Nizamuddin 🇮🇳 The kids started to create their own superhero water stories around protecting the Nizamuddin Baoli Powers included the ability to zap litter from the water and stop flooding! We can’t wait to see our #WaterStorytellers ideas come to life very soon!💧

Day 4 @ Priyanka Camp 🇮🇳 The #HygieneManagers became scientists and used green paint to see the difference between washing our hands for 5 and 20 seconds 🟢 Colourful murals were created with slogans to spread the word about the importance of hand washing in their community! 💧

Had a fantastic time at Ministry of Eco Education | sustainable schools #EcoEdNE event yesterday talking all things KATS! 💫

We are extending our #KATS Global Network! KATS Ambassadors from StTeresasHeaton wrote postcards and filmed video messages to children living in India. They wrote about themselves and asked them questions about their lives in New Delhi! 🇬🇧🇮🇳

Over in New Delhi, India…the children responded to StTeresasHeaton postcards and video messages! They spoke about how pollution affects their communities, and asked them lots of questions about their knowledge of #climatechange These connections will last a lifetime! 🇬🇧🇮🇳
