This morning I lingered in Ps 71 (MSG). Verse 3 stopped me in my tracks: “Be a guest room where I can retreat; you said your door was always open.” What an invitation.

We watched “A River Runs Through It” Friday night. On Saturday, as we walked to the lake from our cabin came upon this sweet surprise. No pole in hand, it was just a good day.

In the hush of the morning, the miracle feels close.

The joy of the Lord is our strength. He is near to the broken hearted, saves us who are crushed in spirit. God works in us His desire for us to work out with him. Proving our faith genuine (not perfect), for only His perfect love casts out fear. We are his workmanship in Christ.

There’s fresh wind in my sails after reading Chuck DeGroat’s Healing What’s Within. “Empathetic witness” is helping me notice God in my own story and hold space for the stories of others.

I need a recommendation for a good movie tonight! Hunkering down in front of a fire with the biggest bowl of popcorn, lime spindrift, and dark chocolate. It’s been a rough week caring for mom. She’s approaching the finish line, longing to see Jesus.
