No spoilers, but Bethesda FINALLY did the #1 best engine improvement they could for PC: mouse/keyboard AND gamepad simultaneous input. Holy heck YES

I adore Bethesda games.

Starfield is INCREDIBLE. I just disabled, boarded, and commandeered a pirate ship. Was gonna take it back to the spaceport to claim it and either fix or sell it, maybe brag a little... But unbeknownst to me there was contraband aboard, so now I'm going to jail I guess rofl

Did I spend 10 minutes watching the sunrise on some planet where I spent the night trying not to die at the claws of an evil alien xenomorph thing? Yes. Was it an beautiful payoff to a super scary mission? Yes. Did Sarah complain about my duck? Yes.

When the game knows you've played ~48 hours and yer still heckin' going...

I wanted to strim more this weekend, but I was sick -turns out covid finally caught up w me- but that's alright cus I got some screenies for ya. The one with the stuffies, that's a freezer. The little cubes are apple chunks. The stuffies now live on my bed.

One of the most amazing things about Starfield, is that not only does your char cough when you get lung damage, but it's also so real. Unpredictably, the controller will rumble, camera will tilt down, lose focus, and then ya hear the cough. Feels like we're covid buddies.

I adore this game.

So I was just flying around, as you do, and noticed a dark spot on this gas giant. Thought it was a bug at first, until I turned around and noticed that this moon is casting a shadow......this planet is enjoying an itty bitty eclipse!! I friggin love this game...

Yep...that's a gas giant alright...

I'm nearing 250 hours, on my second NG+, and this encounter STILL gets me...

I just realized that Starfield models the angles of incidence of light from each planet's star. So if you're close to the equator, around midday you'll have a short shadow, whereas if you're close to either pole you'll get a looooong shadow. This is such a cool friggin touch...

Took a break from splorin' and talking to a bunch of famous (and infamous) clones to find out if it was possible to find a "land of the midnight sun." Sure enough, if you go far enough system-north/south, night will NEVER fall.
