On Thursday morning, First Minister Humza Yousaf informed the leaders of the Scottish Green Party that he was ending the Bute House Agreement (BHA). The First Minister made this decision without democratically consulting the SNP membership, despite the fact that over 90% of 1/

3/ Both votes are anticipated to take place at some point next week. Whilst we, the SNP Socialists executive, hold a variety of opinions on these events, the situation is truly unprecedented. We all feel upset that the SNP/Green coalition has broken down because we were excited

6/ Call To Action We therefore propose the following: We re-commit support for progressive socialist values and policy
We call on the SNP leadership to support the LGBTQ+ community, i.e. in particular to continue its work on Ending Conversion Practices in Scotland and ensure

a raw & real take from the SNP progressive left

When the question inevitably comes before us again, who should lead us, we should ask just 1 question of them: was tearing up the BHA worth it? anyone who answers yes should never be allowed to speak again.

Personally I think it’s good if MSPs openly care about the work they do. I don’t know Gillian Mackay well and I have zero party affiliation but I’d rather have elected representatives find our politics meaningful than treat it as a game or a set of norms that render it trite.

Jim Monaghan what is wrong with a politician who is honest about how much she cares.

it’s good that young women are in politics - even if they do things differently than you would

It’s very important for politicians to show their real, true selves and be emotionally honest. We need authentic human beings in public office not soulless artificial party robots or rabid culture warriors. Applause to Gillian Mackay MSP for bringing integrity to Scottish politics

There's a lot of bile on this hell-site in response to this, but this is genuine emotion from someone whose job involved extremely close working with the SNP

It's a reminder politicians are human, and how relationships are the most critical things that make the government tick
