Really pleased to see that TFI Lodestar wins the ABPCO Excellence award. TFI Lodestar was the driver behind making ICRA 2023 the great success it was. Outstanding! Kaspar Althoefer (General Chair) and Helge Wurdemann (Co-General Chair)

Today we announce that Kaspar Althoefer, Chief Editor of our Biomedical Robotics section, is stepping down after 8+ years leading the section. He will be succeeded by the excellent Prof. Elena De Momi and Prof. Fanny Ficuciello. (1/4)

After 8.5 years at Biomedical Robotics Frontiers in Robotics and AI, I step down as Specialty Editor. Great honour to lead the Section since 2015. Very proud that the Section reached the top position for research topics and paper submissions within Frontiers in Robotics and AI in recent years.

I am thrilled to introduce the new custodians of Biomedical Robotics Frontiers in Robotics and AI, Fanny Ficuciello and Elena De Momi, both esteemed experts in the field. I am confident they will keep the momentum going and propel the Section to even greater heights. Fanny & Elena, thank you!

I extend my deepest gratitude to the Frontiers in Robotics and AI management for entrusting me with this responsibility; thanks to the Frontiers team for their impeccable logistics management. Lots of thanks to Associate Editors, Guest Editors and Reviewers making the Section such a success.

Thanks for having me, Dimitrios Kanoulas. Was great visiting UCL East campus.

Allow me to draw your attention to work done at Queen Mary University of London in the 1960s. Meredith Thring who joined Queen Mary University of London as a Professor in 1964 (exactly 60 years ago) developed wheeled robots that could climb stairs, like the one shown in the attached video.
