This is an ABSOLUTELY amazing release.🎇 v1.7 contains a new resiliency feature, 3 new state store components, an air-gapped Dapr installer, K8s unix domain sockets support, richer component metrics and more. Best of all, this release has the highest number of contributors yet.

We are considering switching from VS2022 to Rider. What functionality did you miss from VS when moving to Rider? #dotnet #visualstudio #jetbrains

We made WPF. Then a crazy dude from Office took over Windows and threw it out. Then he got fired. Then the team split it into its own library (Direct2D). Then some people who forgot how hard it was tried to write their own. 5 years later after that, System.Drawing was revived 😩

From this slide about the AirBnB Microservice architecture, it looks like they made the mistake of noun-based-microservices with their Reservation and User "Service blocks". Don't try to model the "real world". It doesn't exist: udidahan.com/2012/03/05/don…

After 15 years of near daily use of github I find that I am increasingly unable to operate the web interface. I can't be alone feeling this way?

Andrew Cairns 1. Don't CQRS 2. Not as a top-level architecture 3. Not until you've task-oriented your UI 4. Not until you've separate private data flows from public And if the new project is truly greenfield, definitely don't CQRS, as you probably won't be able to address 2-4.

I’ve been running this ARM-based machine for the last 6 months. It’s fantastic. 32G RAM + 512G storage, Wi-Fi 6, eth, 3x USB-A + 2x USB-C, Mini Display port. I am driving 3 external monitors simultaneously. Quiet and fast and running ARM native Visual Studio, Windows, Edge, more

Today I shared with my team that after 32 fantastic years (!) I'll be retiring from Microsoft! What's next? 1) I'm staying on until summer to help with the transition (SO MUCH GOODNESS COMING), then 2) focus on the two kids still at home & the 1 who just started college. :)

More than ever, we must be prepared for the challenges that AI and Deep Learning will bring to our organizations. Alexis-Fortin Côté, AI scientist at Vooban Vibe, clarifies this complex matter with a clever example of a potato sorting program. 🥔😋 #potatolove #Confoo #AI

It was just announced internally so I thought I would share it here as well. April 28th will be my final day at Microsoft. My goal two years ago was to retire in five years. I am just a bit ahead of schedule. Time to hang up the #Blackshirt for good. #RubDevOpsOnIt #LoECDA

CNCF are recognizing the under represented developer audience for sessions who turn up at KubeCon. Combine this AppDeveloperCon co-located event with the SDLC track that also focuses on developer events.linuxfoundation.org/kubecon-cloudn… and KubeCon NA is starting to get more compelling ✨
