The Eco Club was formed this year at JTSD to help manage some projects around the school. From gardening to recycling, the club has been busy after school. This year, a special project was developed with roots going back to when John Thomas was the principal.

We sent our JTSD seniors off in fashion. 🎓 Current seniors took one more walk through the halls of JTSD before they walk across the stage to graduate. 🎉 Congratulations to our wonderful students! Good luck on wherever life takes you next. You all are #STEAMazing 👏

JTSD's Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) hosted a big rig day for staff, students, and families. 🚚 Students and families explored and sat in the trucks to learn more about its functions and purpose. 🚒

Our JTSD Discovery Singers took the field at the Springfield Cardinals game. ⚾ They sang the National Anthem, God Bless America, and Take Me Out to the Ballgame! #STEAMazing #GoCards

JTSD kindergarteners are counting down the end of the year by learning through the letters of the alphabet. 🔠 To celebrate the letter 'B,' students studied bubbles and were surprised with a bubble party to end the day. 🫧

Said goodbye to our wonderful sixth graders today. 🥹Pictured is the years they were here at JTSD. We wish them luck as they head to the Junior High this summer. 😊 Congratulations sixth grade! Go make us proud. 🎉

Third graders from JTSD and Century have been pen pals all year long. 📝 They were excited to finally meet each other in person and hangout together at the park. 🛝

Fifth graders partnered with James River Basin to learn about the local waterways. They went over to the Ozark Community Center to explore the creek, learn about invertebrates, and discuss the importance of keeping our waterways clean. #STEAMazing

Our fourth grade Olympians are learning about the art of sailing. ⛵️Learning the ins and outs, the history, and the science behind sailing. They’re engineering boats and improving their designs throughout June. #STEAMazing

JTSD hosted the Missouri State #BearsTeach program today. This initiative looks to recruit students interested in the teaching profession to address the teacher shortage in Missouri. Thanks for joining the fun today! Excited for the future bears!
