A little ditty I drummed on has made it onto Metal Hammer's top songs of 2022. If you vote, maybe it could become THE best song of 2022. That would be pretty cool

Yesterday I passed my viva with no corrections. Many thanks to Steve Laurence and Justin Garson for their excellent and insightful questions. And thank you to Luca Barlassina, Max Khan Hayward, and the philosophy department The University of Sheffield for helping me through this journey.

I'm happy to share the good news that Erkenntnis just published my paper "A Teleosemantic Response to Burge's Attack on Semantic Reductionism". 🥳 The link for the paper, as well as the preprint, are avaialable below.

Thanks, Justin! The paper also explores what the function of low mood and depression is more generally. I also have something in the works that delves even deeper into the pain analogy, so keep your eyes peeled for that one

On the blog today, Harriet Fagerberg (@H_Fagerberg) and Justin Garson (Justin Garson) discuss their new paper, which argues that the proper function (and relevant dysfunction) of something is it's proximal function. imperfectcognitions.blogspot.com/2024/07/functi…
