Every single shelter in YYT is full. The 'help' line denies dozens of ppl daily for a variety of reasons. Every shelter bed gov't announced this month was already filled before the photo op. Guess what? Now they're struggling to staff them. One almost shutdown for the weekend.

Lots of uninformed opinions out there on why folks are setting up their tents on the lawn of Confederation Building. As someone who has been actually talking them + nonprofits for 2+ years & investigating what gov't is doing about it, here's the facts. medium.com/@newf.robyn/wh…

This is how we criminalize people who fall victim to the system. People who left their private shelter to join the protest have now lost their spot. I'm told 4 private shelters have shut down this week. We can't force them back into the dark! They deserve housing!

That’s an enormous amount of public money to spend to chainsaw, bulldoze and pave barely 2 km of a woodland path on what is already a multiuse trail. How many public housing units could be built for what is being spent on just this one section of the Bike Plan?

there should be a "take your friend to work day" so we can actually see what our friends do all day and meet the characters from all their work stories

I believe this is why folks who leave the military often feel an acute sense of social dislocation. When you're accustomed to bullshitting on the mess deck or the barracks rec room, sitting in your house alone just sucks. But you don't miss the military - you miss the commune. 6/
