Not only do politicians choose the projects — Liberals do, despite having a minority government. The bill would be a whole lot more democratic if Parliament got to decide which projects go on the list — a list that has the potential to exempt them from any federal law.

With all of the problems facing cities, you’d think councillors would have better things to do than dream up new ways to limit free speech. Read my op-ed👉 nationalpost.com/opinion/canadi… And don't forget to download our Canada's Most Censorious Bylaws report!👉theccf.ca/municipal-muzz…

The ones addicted to war are the Islamists who can’t stand a successful Jewish nation in their midst. This was Israel’s last best chance to take out the nuclear capabilities of a regime that’s stated goal is annihilating it. IAEA found Iran in breach. No one else will stop them.

Imagine that they hate Jews so much that they’re defending a terrorist regime that literally kills women for showing their hair.

Sad to hear of the death of the Hon. Gérard V. La Forest, Justice of the Supreme Court of Canada. La Forest understood that the purpose of section 8 of the Charter, security against unreasonable searches and seizures, is to prevent an Orwellian future. scc-csc.ca/media-medias/n…

Imagine being a CUPE member and knowing your dues are funding a protest in support of the world’s greatest sponsor of terrorism — a regime that kills women for what they wear, that forces gay men to transition, that wants to kill all the Jews. I’d say I’m shocked but it’s CUPE.

The electric vehicle mandate says electrics must account for 20% of new vehicle sales in 2026, rising to 60% by 2030 and 100% by 2035. In the first quarter of 2025, they accounted for 8.7% of sales. It's almost as if the market is offering a signal here. blacklocks.ca/sales-crash-wi…

Bill C-5, which the PM hopes to pass by the end of June, is designed to fast-track development by allowing cabinet to suspend any/all laws it likes for any project. The potential for corruption is immense. Opposition MPs can't allow it to become law. nationalpost.com/opinion/jamie-…

Josh Dehaas (@joshdehaas) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Incorrect. Provinces make appointments to provincial courts such as the Ontario Court of Justice, which handle less serious infractions. Ottawa appoints judges to the superior courts that handle serious crimes, and the appeals courts and Supreme Court, which have far more impact.

Josh Dehaas (@joshdehaas) 's Twitter Profile Photo

C-5 is a classic case of picking winners and losers rather than creating the conditions that will allow the best proposals to succeed, as determined by the markets. And Parliament won’t even get an opportunity to sign off on the specific projects. 👇🏻 nationalpost.com/opinion/rather…

Can municipalities ban images of fetuses from the public sphere? Plus, you won't believe what a University of Saskatchewan law student was punished for writing... All that and more on the latest episode of Not Reserving Judgment, a CCF podcast.

Have you heard of C-5? It would allow Carney's cabinet to exempt projects picked behind closed doors from federal laws. We need to build fast, but Parliament should get a say. I tried to testify at committee but didn't make it on the list. Here's some of what I would've said.
