As the latest on Olympic boxer Imane Khelif is reported, a diagnosis of 5ARD is almost certain. I and others first raised the likelihood of this DSD a few months ago. Understanding how the developmental biology of DSDs interacts with sports categorisation is crucial.

Ken Van Sickle. Paris 1955. After his tour in the Korean War he picked up a Leica camera with only 60 rolls of 35mm film and, with the money from the G.I. Bill, moved to Paris. The zeitgeist of 50s Paris are captured beautifully.

We heard the sea sound sing, we saw the salt sheet tell. Lie still, sleep becalmed, hide the mouth in the throat, Or we shall obey, and ride with you through the drowned. Dylan Thomas. Lie Still, Sleep Becalmed.
