Pursuing wealth benefits, like profits and exports, often comes at the expense of pursuing welfare benefits, like nutrition and livelihoods. These #bluefood system tradeoffs are associated with barriers to participation suggesting policy can support a more just food system. (4/9)

Often overlooked yet crucial for ocean governance success are community perceptions of the ecosystem services they gain from blue resource systems. Our work ajol.info/index.php/wioj… led by Pascal Thoya sheds some light.

We highlight that: 1. Fish markets mediate the availability of and access to nutritious fish for health; 2. Traded fish diversity important for diverse nutrient profiles and consumer choices; 3. Traded fish has the potential to address nutrient deficiencies in a coastal context.
