My personal top-5 favorite graphs/exhibits from Claudia #Goldin papers 1. Gender pay gap is present in (almost) all occupations, even controlling for age, race and education. Why? Because of the "value placed on the hours and job continuity of workers" aeaweb.org/articles?id=10…

In the U.S., as in many other countries, female labor force participation and earnings have been largely mischaracterized. Closing gender gaps is a major policy priority, and thorough research on effective interventions has never been more necessary.

If your primary job is not research but you want to keep publishing research, how do you do it? Based on a prompt from Amber Peterman, I offer 6 suggestions based on my experience in non-research units of international organizations. 👇 What's your advice and what did I get wrong?

We learn more from reading on paper than on screens. 54 studies, 171k people: we process print more deeply than digital content—as long as it's informational rather than purely narrative. The paper advantage holds across ages and has grown over time. Long live physical books.
