The urology team Penn State Urology on call this weekend with me: PGY3 Zack Tully, visiting MS4 Tanner Nelson from VCU, PGY2 Jenny Kane and PGY5 Austin Bramwell - many patients and a couple of operative cases so far - only 19 more hours of call left (not that we are counting)!

Thanks for the nice pic. Hopefully Elizaveta Makarova had a chance to see a classic radical retropubic prostatectomy during her AI Duke Urology. I think Judd Moul is one of the few urologists in the academic medical centers who performs many of these procedures and does them well!

Great conversation (and dinner) with Dr. Wade Sexton Moffitt Cancer Center tonight with staff Penn State Urology. As our visiting professor tomorrow, he will discuss bladder cancer, testicular cancer, and cytoreductive nephrectomy—an outstanding educational opportunity for our residents.

Lots of learners at all levels w/ me in clinic last Thursday: MS1 Jake Rethman (thinking about urology as a career), PGY2 Jenny Kane (all in and doing her residency with us Penn State Urology) & MS4 Sahil Parikh (doing his AI with us and applying for the urology match this cycle)

Up and coming MS4 Emelie-jo Scheffler from Oakland University Wm. Beaumont School of Medicine is doing her AI with us Penn State Urology - she was in the OR w/ me and got to operate with some of our residents: PGY2 Jenny Kane & PGY3 Cassra Baghshomali Clark under my direct supervision.

Dr. Blake Baer (PGY3 resident) had the distinction of being the first speaker from Penn State Urology to give his presentation ("Differences between local ablation & radical nephroureterectomy in effect on renal function & need for renal dialysis following treatment for UTUC") #MAAUA24

Met Dr. Patrick Dennis at the Resident's Bowl today #MAAUA24 Mid-Atlantic Section of the AUA | MAAUA - he finished his urology residency in 1989 Penn State Urology and is currently in practice in Hagerstown, MD - he remembers our program coordinator Deshreiner (who is still the current program coordinator)!

Great introduction by the research staff Penn State Urology this afternoon on who they are, what expertise they bring, and the process of getting a research idea into a project that can be presented at regional/national meetings and then across the finish line (i.e. publication).

Met COL (ret) James E. Williams, Jr, USA at today's Prostate Cancer screening event Penn State Urology. He is chairman of the Pennsylvania Prostate Cancer Coalition @PAProstate and a prostate cancer survivor himself, advocating to have men have their prostate checked.
