I'm as upset as the rest of Ontario by what we learned in today's Auditor General report. But the fact that Ford spent millions on private consultants for his non-plan for schools while refusing to fund smaller classes or consult with frontline workers? I'm livid. #onted

As I teach today, I can't help but feel immense gratitude for my fellow educators, admin, students and families who are carrying more than they should because our government would not. #OntEd #OnPoli

Parents/Guardians, this is the minister of education, Stephen Lecce blatantly ignoring all health & safety protocols 👇 How is it possible that a #covididiot could be in charge of 2.5 million kids and over 200,000 education workers in this province?

Anti-Asian racism has deep social, political and institutional roots. With COVID-19, we have seen a rise in racist violence towards Asians and ppl of Asian descent. To unpack anti-Asian racism, #ETFO and Toronto District School Board created this resource bit.ly/3s2FLU7 #onpoli #AsianRacism

Can we talk about the fact that the police (male dominated profession) is getting a 10.9% pay raise over 5 years, yet education (female dominated profession) was limited to 1% PLUS cuts to education?! Doug Ford ‘s attacks on education needs to stop! #VoteFordOut2022 #osstf

Our vaccination rollout plan was crafted before variants became dominant in hotspots. We need to pivot To help schools stay open ->vaccinate teachers/staff. To reduce community spread -> vaccinate essential workers. To maintain hospital capacity -> hotspots need more vaccines.

With >400,000 #CovidVaccine doses in freezers, Ontario needs to: ✅ Equip Family Doctors to vaccinate ✅ Bring vaccines to essential workers at work ✅ Give paid time off to get the vaccine ✅ Send vaccines ASAP to hotspots There is absolutely no reason not to do this today.

Principals and vice-principals are calling on the government to immediately prioritize the vaccination of all who work in the education sector. Let's use the April break to get this done. Our letter to the Premier and CMOH: principals.ca/en/who-we-are/…

10% of Ontario postal codes have 90% of cases. Richest, lowest risk neighbourhoods have highest vaccination rates. Essential workers are least paid, least eligible for vaccination & most likely to infect multiple family members. We don't beat COVID without addressing inequity.

Because he stands up for science. Because he makes hard choices. Because he protects the health of our communities. Because he is compassionate. Because he is courageous. We are all grateful for Dr Lawrence Loh. #ISupportDrLawrenceLoh

I’m sorry, but what has the ministry/government done to improve remote learning? Because I’m pretty sure that they didn’t invent Google Classroom, Meet, Teams, Zoom, or even D2L. The government didn’t “pivot” to remote learning. Educators did. #OntEd #onpoli

There ARE problems with vaccine supply. But when there's plenty at a pharmacy in an upscale neighborhood & zero at a hot zone community centre in the same city at the same time...that's not supply. That's misallocation. That's unforgiveable. #EquityMatters

The Ontario Science Table [COVIDScienceOntario] has recommended that 50% of all available vaccines go to hotspot neighbourhoods with the highest rates of #COVID19. RT if you agree the Ontario government should immediately do this to save lives.

.Doug Ford's claim that #Ontario's 3rd wave of #COVID19 was driven by our porous borders is simply untrue—this was caused by re-opening in early February against scientific advice. Also, to date just 1.6% of Ontario's #COVID19 cases were travel-related: publichealthontario.ca/-/media/docume…

None of my schools had a graveyard when I was growing up, marked or unmarked. The only things our schools buried in the ground were time capsules. Child graves at schools is not normal. It's genocide.

Seeking advice doesn't reveal incompetence. It reflects respect for another person's insight. Requesting feedback doesn't signal insecurity. It demonstrates that you care more about your learning than your ego. Asking for help doesn't display weakness. It builds strength.
