The Championship is back! And #safc’s season-opener at Cardiff is a chance for Regis Le Bris to lay down a marker in the crucial early stages of his reign. ✍️ My latest We Are Sunderland column here 👇 wearesunderland.com/news/national/…

An excellent start for #safc and Le Bris at the weekend. Keep the momentum going in the cup tomorrow, then on to the first home game on Saturday

Excellent first half performance from #safc - 3-0 up at HT and only a fine save denied Rigg denied a fourth. Deservedly applauded off at the break. Sheff W have been really poor and it’s unlikely they could be as bad again in the second half.

So, Jack Clarke is on his way. What next for #safc? And have they learned their lesson after last summer’s Ross Stewart debacle? ✍️ My latest We Are Sunderland column here 👇 wearesunderland.com/opinion/245369…

FT. Mundle-land 1-0 Burnley. Excellent display from #safc, Mundle scored winner, and held out with 10 men for the final 5mins after Neil’s red card. Roberts, Bellingham, O’Nien outstanding. First time SAFC have started a league season with three successive wins since 1925

FT. #safc 1-0 Boro Normal service has been resumed. Rigg’s cheeky backheel the difference on a day when both sides hit the woodwork and had chances. Mundle and Rigg brilliant, Roberts also excellent, and Mepham also impressive on debut
