Ravens QB Lamar Jackson was in good spirits Tuesday. He didn't want to talk about his contract, but he did want to back Mark Andrews. He's excited that DeAndre Hopkins is now a Raven and he playfully challenged Eric DeCosta to go get Jaire Alexander, too. nytimes.com/athletic/64334…

Jaire Alexander is a typical Ravens move. Every year, they seemingly add an accomplished veteran on a modest contract late in the offseason. I don't have numbers yet, but Ravens felt like they could benefit from adding another experienced and talented CB.

Quick news story on Ravens signing veteran CB Jaire Alexander. Ravens weren't overly confident about their chances of landing Alexander early, but he chose Baltimore over bigger offers elsewhere. nytimes.com/athletic/64274…

Per sources, the Ravens deal w/Jaire Alexander is for 1-yr, $4 million. Could be worth up to $6 million. Alexander could've gotten more elsewhere, but Ravens status as perennial contenders, presence of close friend/former college teammate Lamar Jackson worked in their favor.

Ravens love having flexibility to load the field with DBs. At CB, they now have a top 4 of Marlon Humphrey, Nate Wiggins, Jaire Alexander and Chidobe Awuzie. They have a handful of young drafted CBs behind them.

You could still make a case that they'd benefit from adding vet No. 3 safety, but they have Kyle Hamilton and Malaki Starks as starters. They like progress younger safeties Sanoussi Kane and Beau Brade are making. It's not impossible Ar'Darius Washington returns late in season

Harbaugh said that OT Emery Jones should return “at some point in training camp.” Said the third-round rookie is unlikely to be available at start of it.

Harbaugh said that Vorhees and Faalele are “in the lead” for starting guard jobs “but they know they have to play well.”

Ravens CB Marlon Humphrey says the team has had championship-caliber rosters. “I don’t want to say we have underperformed, but we have underperformed.” Says he knows they are not far off. Like Lamar Jackson, you can tell that Bills playoff loss still stings Humphrey

To make room for CB Jaire Alexander on their roster, the Ravens waived RB Sone Ntoh, a UDFA out of Monmouth. Leaves Ravens with five backs: Derrick Henry, Justice Hill, Keaton Mitchell, Rasheen Ali and UDFA Marcus Major Jr.
