I'm not at UCLA for the year but I'm following it all. I mostly just hope everyone stays safe. And then I hope that free speech is respected. Mostly I wish there was nearly as much attention to what's happening in Palestine as there was to what's happening about Palestine.

I have been rejected from lots of things, most notably every single full-time job I've ever applied for, except the one I currently have. Though since then I did once get a job offer for a job I did not apply for! Anyway all it takes is one and often it's just about fit.

Pew asked Americans how many of their close friends share their religious beliefs. Evangelicals are the only group where the majority say most/all their close friends share their beliefs. Part of that is group size, but also a subculture built around rigid us vs. them boundaries.
