September blessings! This first 'Ber' month brings us to a threshold that includes the autumnal equinox 🍂and the spring equinox for our friends in the southern hemisphere. 🌏

One of my all-time favorite colleagues came out of retirement to replace someone who quit at school. I was sad to see the one who quit leave. But, my all-time favorite popped his head in the room this morning & I jumped up and yelled, “You’re back!” Nothing like a great educator!

I've been teaching all day. Laughing with "my kids" & learning. Then I find out another school shooting happened. My kids & I practiced what to do last week. This is one of my biggest nightmares. Last year one of my kids was shot in the community. Something has to change.

I have a baseball bat in my classroom in case of an intruder. The police suggested we have bats, can goods, fire extinguisher. Anything to throw, swing, or cause a distraction. One of my kids spotted it & asked if they could use it if we have an active shooter. This is awful.

Today a student told me that his father died this summer & they’re picking up his ashes tomorrow. His mother had a stroke recently. He didn’t have any socks. I gave him socks & food to take home. He got excited about cereal. Please help & RP. amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls… #clearthelist
