Sometimes I wonder if the public really understands the consequences of doctors not getting pay restoration. Because it’s not gonna be worse for the doctors. System collapses —> in comes privatisation —> for profit medical care —> doctors get better pay —> public lose out

Junior doctors start their careers on £29,384. There is not a single Conservative MP who would be prepared to do their jobs for that salary. If we’re not careful there won’t be a single junior doctor who is prepared to do so either. #juniordoctorstrikes

I'd hate for someone not to be able to read that small print!! I am sure you didn't mean to mislead!!! Of course you wouldn't intentionally conflate 48hr weeks with night shifts & weekends and imply the earnings were 9-5 Monday-Friday to the general public, would you???

Dear Steve Barclay, There seems to be a lot of interest on UK #MedTwitter (Roshana 🦴) in how enticing Australia is for UK docs. Here are a few examples, from a junior doctor who made the move, of the international market you're competing with. You should be worried.🧵

PAs will never have equivalency to F1s, let alone registrars. Simply because they don't have medical degrees and are not doctors. That simple. Familiarity with the logistics of a specialty and the ability execute guidelines does not make one a clinically competent physician.

If we accept that PAs should be able to become senior decision makers, I want answers to these 1. Do we need 5/6 years of medical school? 2. Is rotational training neccessary? 3. Do we need postgraduate exams MRCS/MRCP, FRCS etc.? We shouldn't have parallel unequal systems.
