This immungen elicited a high-quality growth inhibitory response. We also showed that a first dose of this highly focused immunogen, followed by subsequent doses of the broader immunogen, PfRH5, was most effective. Read all about it here: biorxiv.org/cgi/content/sh…

Zebrafish Rock! I'm planning my fish facility and would love to know from the community which company I should get the racks and the whole setup from. Which company did you you go for and what are the pros and especially the cons? Thank you!

Read about a fascinating evolutionary battle between the malaria parasite and the human host in our new pre-print below! Parasites have evolved to bind to inhibitory immune receptor KIR2DL1 while the host has a counter-offensive trick up its sleeve... biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

How does infection with helminths reduce asthma and allergies? Check out our recent paper showing how the helminth secretion product, HpAIR blocks IL-33 signalling. Cunning little parasite! Led by Abhishek Jamwal and fun collaboration with @HenryMcSorley, rdcu.be/dLewH

Excited to share our new vaccine immunogen, designed through structure-guided methods, to prevent Plasmodium vivax. While the PvDBP antigen reduces parasite multiplication when used as a vaccine, it does not protect. PvDBP is also difficult to make. Could we make it better?

Fantastic work from Mehrotra Parul in Kodi Ravichandran lab. I was fortunate enough to watch this project come together from start to finish and Parul's scientific rigour and creativity was a joy to experience. nature.com/articles/s4158…

How does the deadly human-infective pathogen Entamoeba histolytica recognise our cells and cause liver abscesses? Check out our latest study, led by @SFGerard2018. Sam shows the structure of the critical amoeba lectin and how it recognises carbohydrates found on human cells.

It's really sad, this closure of veupathdb.org It deprives thousands of parasitologists around the world... At a time when the world is questioning democracy, this illiberal act endangers global research on endemic and neglected diseases. science.org/content/articl…

In the silence of chromatin, Toxoplasma whispers change. TgSNF2h sculpts the genome - MORC in the backseat. Some genes wake. Others sleep. A dance of nucleosomes shaping space for life parasite stages to unfold. rdcu.be/ehkWp doi.org/10.1038/s41564…

Our latest story describes the amazing evolutionary battle between malaria parasite and human. The parasite evolved RIFINs to bind inhibitory KIR receptors and suppress immune cell function while humans have activating KIR receptors to bind these RIFINs to kill parasites!
