The Greens only ever get ~10% of the primary vote. I have a theory that if they went pro nuclear they would get at least 15% - on the basis that they would lose maybe half of their current base, but take a good chunk of pro nuclear labor and some lib voters.

Geez how desperate are the anti-nukes getting. The researchers, journalists and anyone retweeting this should be embarrassed. I say more of it; only highlights how dishonest they are.

"U.S. states are leading a new wave of investment in advanced #nuclear energy, aiming to boost energy #security, support industrial #growth, and revitalize local economies." No other energy source tackles so many problems at once quite like nuclear 🤷 nationalinterest.org/blog/energy-wo…

For the ABC, a nearly 8× nuclear power project cost increase would be more than enough justification to line up endless commentary demanding immediate abandonment.

Just a snapshot from their 'about' page to get a sense of things. Fighting colonisation, white supremacy and capitalism and patriarchy are part of it. "Taking our democracy back from big business." Kinda odd for an outfit trying to save Rio Tinto's aluminium holdings. 5/

News flash... Turnbull has cashed out of a couple of pumped hydro projects. Sold to AGL. Do they stack up economically? Is this the market at work? Or is this what carefully treading through the maze of subsidies delivers to smart players? 1/ reneweconomy.com.au/turnbull-sells…

Sandy Ridge - a successful radioactive material disposal facility which secured First Nation approval - is only 'toxic' for the kind of life-long activist who's traded on the plight of Traditional Owners his entire career.

I had a reply from Jackie Trad, from Clean Energy Council in the Financial Review yesterday, presenting the case that renewables are definitely coming, and Eraring's extension is just a 'stop gap'. I have some thoughts. 1/ afr.com/policy/energy-…
