My 1st book is currently ranked #4,013,610 in sales. My 2nd book,...um, a, Amazon stopped ranking it, the number was to big. My 3rd book is ranked #3,901,716. Tolkien, Martin, Sapkowski, and Kafka - Legendary writers. I'm killing my 1st name. I'm just Kafka now. 😅

My wife wanted a career. I said go for it, and I'll be a stay-at home-dad (4 kids - 3-4-6 and 7 years old.) Easiest job I ever had. I raised kids during the day, worked at night. 46 years later, zero regrets. Best time of my life.

Haven't sold a book since the Romans walked. I did chop wood for the winter. 68 and still chopping like a chopper should. Turn on the news and see able-bodied young men protesting and naked bike riders. *sigh* "Honey, I'm gonna chop wood naked tomorrow." Wife: "No!" "Okay" 😠

Writing Advice: "Write like you mean it." It's not believable unless you do.

I have always admired Tolkien's work. But, I disliked the world being called, 'Middle Earth.' I've read several fantasy books that use the word, 'Earth.' Earth is not generic, it's specific. There might be Earth - like planets, but they won't be called Earth.

Fantasy - the faculty or activity of imagining things, especially things that are impossible or improbable. Fantasy writers of fantastical worlds, do you use Earth time, weeks or months? "I'll be back in 10 minutes." Do your characters have a watch?

No one would want to sit with me, therefore I would not ask, saving them from fabricating a meaningless rejection. It is better to be alone, then with someone who does not want be at your side.

I have a vast collection of resource material I use for writing fantasy. The old ways are still the best, IMO.
