It was a beautiful morning to walk the dog with clear views to the mountains west of Perth; Stuc a'Chroin, Ben Vorlich and the Perthshire Ben More (40 miles in the distance).

Interesting (to the tester mind) feature of the SNCF (French rail) app. The list is sorted alphabetically in French then translated into English. Roumanie, Royaume-Uni, Russie. You need some basic French to find the UK! Learn languages! Don't rely on Google Translate.

We found a beautiful picnic spot beside Loch Faskally at Pitlochry this afternoon (with swimming facilities for those who wished to take advantage). Perthshire is looking gorgeous in the warm, late summer sunshine.

Just found this. "The War Poems of Siegfried Sassoon", 1st edition, 1919. Poor condition, because it's been well read. It belonged to Lieutenant John Cunningham MC, of the Gordon Highlanders, who lived out these poems on the Western Front. What an amazing find!

This made me smile. Good for them, and I do admire Alan Bates' cheek (amongst all his other qualities).
