So, we had a 7th grader get caught VAPING WEED IN CLASS today. In the front row. Just a few feet away from the teacher. The parent’s response: “My son didn’t do it.” At some point we’re going to have to stop playing nice & bluntly tell parents “You are the problem - grow up!”

Teachers are not afraid of failure. 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐟𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐝 𝐨𝐟… •False accusations •Not being able to support their own families •What is happening to their own mental health •The lack of teacher resources •The growing apathy from students •The growing disrespect

Schools are facing a crisis of leadership. Too many administrators lack the preparation and skills needed to navigate the needs of today’s schools. The system sets them up for failure—expecting them to lead without adequate training, resources, or mentorship. How can we expect

Teachers are professionals, so evaluations should be aspirational, focusing more on growth and improvement, not on weaknesses or punitive measures.

Teaching seems to be the only profession where adults aren’t always treated like adults—like not being trusted to make decisions or micromanaged. I LOVE LEADERS who value teachers' expertise and judgment. Empowering teachers shouldn’t be the exception—it should be the standard.

Too many people think it’s the teacher’s job to have just the right song and dance to please the students into maybe paying attention to the content. Reality check, it’s our job to deliver content. It’s the students job to take in and apply said content. We’re not entertainers.

Teachers shouldn't have to write off school supplies because they shouldn't have to buy school supplies in the first place. Teachers are employees, not business owners.

Why is there a teacher shortage? *Having no voice as an expert *Working excessive hours unpaid *Limited resources *bureaucratic hurdles *Dealing w/ disruptive behavior *Lack of respect/recognition *Unrealistic expectation * Evaluated by standardized tests *Burnout

Education isn’t broken because of teachers. It’s broken because we ask teachers to be counselors, social workers, parents, and miracle workers—while still demanding perfect test scores. Fix the system, not the people holding it together.

SageOnTheStage Teachers are afraid of the principal, Principal is afraid of the Superintendent, Superintendent is afraid of the School Board, Board is afraid of parents, parents are afraid of their kids and the kids are afraid of no one.

Standardized testing has harmed education. Fewer unrealistic standards would allow teachers to spend more time in class on things like handwriting, remediation during class time or extensions to learning. Bring back play in kinder!

In 1986, Donald Trump paid off a family farm's $77,000 debt and burned their debt papers when he heard an elderly Georgia woman who lost her husband to suicide was set to lose her family farm. This is the side of President Trump the media doesn't want you to see.🙏

10 years ago today, I came out as a transgender boy named Ollie. Freshly 17 and excited to start my new life, I thought I had finally figured out why I was so distressed. For some odd reason that is still unclear to me, I absolutely loved looking like a boy, and I really did

I’m retiring at the end of June after 30 years of teaching. I just wrote my last set of report cards & I wept after finishing. I realized this is the last Sunday I have to give up for this job. The public truly has no idea the extra hours teachers put in outside of the classroom.

The President’s wife is an immigrant. The VP’s wife’s family are immigrants. My mother is an immigrant. My husband is an immigrant. We’re not anti-immigrant: we’re anti-ILLEGAL immigration. Yes, you can be Republican and pro-legal immigration. 🇺🇸

We are the only country in the world dumb enough to pay off the medical bills of people in our country illegally - but not provide the same for our own citizens. Dumber than dumb.
