Claude Code is really struggling with animation (or I haven’t found a way to pass feedback about the state back to Claude). Often Claude will try something, realize it’s not quite right, and iterate. With animation it always thinks it got it right on the first try.

I've written up how I approach "agentic engineering" for real-world codebases & tasks. TL;DR: Treat LLMs like shitty computers you program with natural language, not chatbots you beg for code. mariozechner.at/posts/2025-01-…

It took three attempts, but my youngest is finally old enough to watch Stranger Things with me. The rest of the family refuses anything scary. I have so many good movies to show him, can’t wait until we get to Japanese cinema! The lesson is: get more kids

Biome is an impressive project, but the recommended rules are harmful, frankly. Way too opinionated and often incorrect. Clear case of “just because we can, doesn’t mean we should”

I guess iOS developers haven’t heard about the trick to make animations slow for demos and twice as fast in the actual product Please just make it faster, I really really don’t want to wait to see that app slide up from the bottom, I have things to do

Asked a former colleague who left to start a company to rate the experience from 1-10 “You’ll experience the full range” 😄

Until ~2015, GitHub Pages hosted over 2 million websites on 2 servers with a multi-million-line nginx.conf, edited and reloaded per deploy. This worked incredibly well, with github.io ranking as the 140th most visited domain on the web at the time.

Josh McDermott claire vo 🖤 I wonder if this will lead to a trend of less functional and more experience focused websites Currently the trends are quite conversion focused and utilitarian, but maybe “manual browsing” should be like a showroom?

To me one of the biggest theoretical benefits of design tokens and a design system is that you can do major visual changes with reduced effort and don’t have to rewrite components. Yet this seems to rarely materialize. Why is that? (I’m doing it now and think it’ll succeed)

Good APIs are layered. You can peel off one layer, look underneath and even skip the abstraction. This is what Remix gets right. React components too, I can replace the component with code I write or copy/paste+modify the component. How do you peel back compiler directives?
