Scattered storms span from the Kansas line down to the Red River. It's the southern portion lined up along the Pacific front that we'll watch for the best opportunity for severe storms the next few hours. #okwx

For the first time in 5 years, the NWS has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning in Oklahoma. One severe thunderstorm warning has been issued so far and that's south of Lawton, Oklahoma. Additional warnings may be issued through 12PM today. Strong To Severe Storms Thursday Morning

The Pacific front is pushing the line of storms into the west Metro now. Heavy rain, gusty winds, and small hail are likely. We're still watching closely for any uptick in intensity as well as any circulations. #okwx

A very active morning with severe weather for the state. We saw 2 confirmed tornadoes with an additional 2 tornado warnings in the eastern parts of the state. There has also been many reports of hail and wind damage around the OKC metro. WE SAW 2 CONFIRMED TORNADOES THIS MORNING!

NWS Norman survey teams remain out this afternoon gathering data. Currently, we had 2 confirmed tornadoes with preliminary EF-1 damage found in Purcell. We'll bring you the latest as new information comes in. The January record for tornadoes is 5, so this was rare this morning.

A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for Harper County through 9:00PM. Rain/Snow is in the forecast for Northern Oklahoma today. A dusting to 1.5" of snowfall is possible in far northwest Oklahoma with a few slick spots, so be careful! SNOW IN NORTHWESTERN OKLAHOMA TODAY

We are now up to 5 confirmed tornadoes from yesterday's severe weather. This ties 2023 with the most January tornadoes on record since 1950. #okwx

This will be the first EF2 tornado that has affected Oklahoma in January since 1/29/2013 (although that tornado only produced EF1 damage in Oklahoma and was EF2 in Arkansas). The last January tornado to produce F2/EF2 damage in Oklahoma was 53 years ago: 1/18/1973 at Seminole.

Temperatures will be on the increase with highs in the 60s possible for Monday and Tuesday! A cold front will cool us down a few degrees by Wednesday, but a stronger cold front next weekend will bring some chilly temperatures our way. #okwx
