Sentence sticks! This is a great literacy activity to get children familiar with different writing components, and sentence structure.Combine sticks to create phrases. To make the statement make more sense, students will recognize each component and switch out sticks with another.

I l love this idea of an end of the week reflection to get feedback from students. It’s always important to know where students are at with what was done, so you can alter things the next week. This is also a great language activity to get into touch with thoughts and feelings.

This is a great acronym to help children know their capital letters! When starting to write, children will learn this tip and use the word MINTS to remember what words to capitalize in a sentence.

This sentence-building game is an excellent idea for younger children when getting them familiar with writing instructions. It is an open-ended concept that children will freely explore by creating different sentences of their choice by connecting the puzzles.

I love this idea of hole punching tracing for letters for children! Not only do they get fine motor movement when punching holes, but tracing the letters is a significant way to help with letter recognition. PJ Language Arts Methodology UWindsor

Teacher2Teacher We have a sign in routine. It's not just about the writing, but it's also an opportunity to connect with every child in a morning at the start of the day. The children naturally arrive at different times between 7.45-8.45 am so I'm able to achieve this. #morningroutine

This is a great way to get primary students to learn their vowel sounds by naming the picture and matching that picture to the vowel sound they hear. This will get children engaged in their learning with a visual aspect as well as hearing the sounds of the vowels to match!

A classroom routine: vocabulary and idioms of the day. 3 synonyms of a certain word are given and used in a sentence. Students are asked to give more synonyms and use them in a sentence, too. For thè idioms of the day, their meanings are given and they are also used in a sentence

This is a great way for our students to learn letters and motor skills. Learning the motion of punching the holes in the same pattern of the letter is a great tool for getting younger children familiar with letter recognition.
