Opening the Stakeholder Consultation on the implementation for the #GCM in the #ECOWAS Region, IOM Nigeria Chief of Mission a.i., Ms. Paola Pace, reminds us that the GCM can be a powerful enabler for Member States & non-state actors in achieving the promise of migration.

The consultation on the implementation of the Global Compact on Migration #GCM in the #ECOWAS region began today in Nigeria. The roundtables will facilitate constructive dialogues among stakeholders, helping to enhance their approaches to promote effective migration governance.

Nearly 90 participants from West and Central Africa met in Dakar. Their discussions on improving migration channels, protecting migrants and enhancing cooperation are pivotal for the October GCM Regional Review in Addis Ababa.

Mafa and Kaga LGAs in #Borno State have been heavily affected by flash floods caused by heavy rains in the past days. Through the Rapid Response Fund supported by USAID's Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance, our partners are conducting an assessment of the damages to develop a targeted response.
