Members of our region are attending the IoL Events Summer Training Conference in London today. Great to hear from our new InstituteofLicensing Chair Kate Nicholls OBE Kate Nicholls OBE.

Our Chair Kate Nicholls OBE talks about her background and experience and the strategic plans being developed for the growth of the InstituteofLicensing and how we can continue to be “best in class”.

Next up is our keynote speaker Amy Lamé the London Night Czar. Amy is talking about the role she plays in supporting and promoting a thriving night-time economy in the capital.

Philip Kolvin KC from 11KBW is giving us an update on “Martyn’s Law”

After a break for coffee and engagement with our sponsors, we have Tim Spires from the London Gov and Sylvia Oates from @SixTillSixLtd talking to us about Business Friendly Licensing.

Harm reduction and the ENTE is the topic next as Carly Heath the Night Time Economy Advisor for Bristol City Council speaks to us about her role.

After a very enjoyable lunch we are back to it with Katherine Blair talking about her role in strategy and policy for TfL, London’s night time transport networks and how they serve those who work and travel in the capital at night.

We now have an update on Pavement Licences from John Miley, the vice-chair of IoL East Midlands region.

The InstituteofLicensing President James Button of @JamesButtonCo will now be talking to us about the role licensing plays in safeguarding.

Our last speaker of the day is Leo Charalambides Leo Charalambides talking about how the “agent of change” planning principle might apply in the world of licensing.
