Helping find greener, leaner ways to move goods and people, in an industry that often takes itself far too seriously. Opinions personal. May contain nuts

as opposed to the rest of the rail network, where the movey-track-switchy things are fitted with a heaty-warmy thing that is automatically activated when the thermometer-dooberry-thing falls below a certain indicator-marky thing

Nighthawks: nocturnal birds of the subfamily Chordeilinae, within the nightjarfamily, Caprimulgidae, which is a grouping of 92 species of medium sized birds with long wings and short bills specialized for eating insects. Nope, no idea either. Same bunch who christened CityBeam?

Are you getting lots of posts asking for your opinion, in what could be a desperate attempt at click bait cash? Great idea or not? What do you think?

Say what you like about Virgin West Coast, at least their toilet humour actually had some. Used to look forward to comedic wit, now you get a monotone health & safety lecture. This industry seems determined to flush any joy down the proverbial pan. See it, say it, spoil it.

Never seen a better explanation of how our scheme plans get realised in practice, by a highly motivated client and a talented team of engineers. Much to learn from the irrepressible Daniel Ashville Louisy youtu.be/sJ1N9nE6UYM?si…

Delighted to see another client project granted its Development Consent Order at first attempt. More news (and rail freight) to come…

Did anyone else see high in the skies over East Sussex around 9am what looked like a tanker and 4 fighters heading south? #planespotting

The now familiar effect of travelling ECML when you don’t do real-time monitoring of your freshly-delivered cup of tea. A stain on the permanent way / rolling stock interface. And before Mk IV-o-philes take to their keyboards, same thing happened on them (see earlier post)
