When #Kashmir outdid the #Iranians: The Jamia masjid at Srinagar was modeled on the Iranian mosque plan of four iwans around a central courtyard. The plan was introduced by the Seljuks in the 11th century and became a preferred plan form for Friday mosques in the Persianate east.
