Just a reminder folks - if you support the new BC Indigenous-focussed graduation requirement, it's important to let the Ministry of Education know (via an on-line feedback form on the engagement site). engage.gov.bc.ca/govtogetherbc/…

I’m often asked for “evidence” ungrading works. I start by pointing to the copious evidence that traditional grades and standardized assessment are inequitable. Asking hard questions about bad assumptions institutions make about the efficacy of grades IS the work of ungrading.

Please stop saying that we need to increase teacher salaries in order “recruit the best and brightest” as if the best and brightest are not currently teaching. We need to increase teacher salaries because those currently teaching deserve and earned it.

What a beautiful day today! @BCCultureDay event went so well, warmed my heart and I am so thankful to all who were partners, all who participated and all who supported from afar. We are all in this together and today was but one way community comes together in beautiful ways. 🙌🏽

"Through the interwoven narratives of a POV family story with key institution survivors, the film asks: how do we allow ourselves to dehumanize the most vulnerable people in our care?" cbc.ca/documentarycha… Important history that everyone should see.

Q3: one of the most common barriers I've seen to quality improvement over the years is leaders losing interest or energy or moving on to other priorities. Most large scale change efforts fizzle out. Having constancy of purpose for the long haul is critical for sustainable
