16 January 1938 | Dutch Jewish boy Salomon Harschel was born in The Hague. In October 1942 he was deported to #Auschwitz and murdered in a gas chamber after selection. His mother Engeltje Harschel-Barendse was with him.

Together with Gemeente Den Haag and Embassy of Israel in Nederland, the Jewish cultural organization CHAJ initiated the 5th International Holocaust Remembrance Day commemoration event, a lecture, at Peace Palace Academy Building on 30-11 at 16:30 hrs. ihrd-thehague.org #IHRDTH23
