Newly qualified Mayor's Guides were presented with their badges by the Mayor at the annual dinner in the Guildhall last night. Congratulations to them all for joining the corps which is now 90 strong.

Prior to going into the Abbey for a Norland Nannies graduation ceremony, the Mayor generously took the time to come to chat to Guides waiting to take visitors on what promised to be a wet and windy 2 hour walk!

As a founder member 20 years ago Alan Bell was instrumental in opening up this once-locked churchyard for locals & tourists to enjoy. His beloved Acer trees & the wildlife-friendly approach he pioneered to maintaining this beautiful historic site are part of his legacy. RIP
