Somehow the wrong name wound up on my presentation at this conference. I’m not angry just…tired. Really tired of being the only trans person who’s visible in any way in this organization I know of.

While students demand accountability & justice at The People's Circle for Palestine, University of Toronto threatens removal tonight & suspensions. The university has turned its back on them. So professors like Deb Cowen Robyn Maynard are stepping up for their students. cbc.ca/player/play/vi…

I’m praying them, you leave vengeance to God, for a situation outside your direct control, while still allowing your anger to be put into words and be fully expressed

Why are baptists arguing about whether women can be “pastors”? like what are you worried the grape juice won’t be validly administered?

There is lots to like about this response from Butler, but the thing that actually stuck out to me was how deliberate and thoughtful they were. I would love to feel as comfortable pausing to carefully place my words the way Butler does

This is a good set of questions, and honestly most apply to Canada too. And the admonition at the bottom to not go to Wikipedia is regrettably necessary. I wish wiki had a better sourced and more expansive discussion of these issues, but alas it does not.

I wanted to focus on Saint Joseph this Christmas. Him sitting off to the side full of worry and doubt in the nativity icon always drew me in. For those who get depressed during the holiday season, please know that your melancholy was experienced even by those closest to Christ.

This is exceptionally important to remember in leftist/anarchist spaces where we try to avoid hierarchies. You can structure yourselves non hierarchically but you can’t pretend the world doesn’t have those hierarchies and since their in the water their still at play

Simone Weil wrote “Imaginary evil is romantic and varied; real evil is gloomy, monotonous, barren, boring. Imaginary good is boring; real good is always new, marvelous, intoxicating.” I think about this truth a lot.
