The window to do a new SPACEBALLS movie passed years ago. They had an opening when Disney was fumbling STAR WARS, but the property has already been destroyed. It’s gone from the movies to a streamer series IP no one cares about. Plus the people involved aren’t funny

That is very funny, but one thing I’ve noticed is kids (the audience for this stuff) don’t hold the original trilogy in the same reverence as Gen X and Millennials. To them, STAR WARS is the TV and streaming shows they grew up watching. They mostly ignore the movies.

It’s also about a “comedian” who wasn’t funny. All Lenny Bruce did was attack obscenity laws by saying swear words in front of an audience. That was all he had going for him, but comedians like to pretend he’s some trailblazing genius
