This year I have started Career RTI! This week and next we are doing Electrical, so students sign up to get in and they have been working through exercises to wire outlets, lights, and light switches! They are loving it and so am I! Life skills and possible careers!

Reading buddies looked different today. PreK was learning about Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle this week, so buddies worked together to build something out of stuff! We love our time together!

When you are exposing 7th/8th grade to Welding and you find a gingerbread house activity that students can practice a weld with the icing…..you totally do it!

Another successful year of Reindeer Games! This years games were created by my Engineering Elective Class! Love seeing them design and build, then improve games as they were played. Watching our 7th/8th graders interact with the younger students is one of my favorite things!!

My 6th grade enjoyed Mrs. Collette from Crockett teaching us a lesson on agriculture. She showed us how much land is useful for food production, first with an apple then we recreated it with play dough. Excited to help exposure our students to AG in middle school!

Our 7th/8th grade enjoyed a visit from ETSU Kinesiology and Sports Science today during our elective time. They heard about pursuing different career paths and being a student athlete at the college level.

Exposing our 6th graders to Manufacturing. Students were in two groups: Assembly line or independent contractors. Ss had 25 minutes to build a paper truck. Color, cut, fold, glue, assemble. Students experienced work environments, some wanted to quit or retire😂. Great lesson!

Mr. Story’s Eagle Assistants and my student broadcasting Ss had Kasey Marler as a guest speaker today. Kasey talked about his career in sports broadcasting and being a news anchor at WJHL. We loved having him back at Grandview School.

Enjoyed working with Mrs. Casey’s 3rd graders today. We did a coding lesson with Indi cars where they had to figure out what each color meant then create an algorithm for Indi to follow!

Our Grandview School 7th/8th graders enjoyed participating and watching the HammerBuild today. We are thankful for Mr. Good and his students who came and helped us build the shed. Also thanks to Jared Burgner who kept the crowd of watchers invested.
