And… it has become reality- we have officially degraded the “final 4” to just another typically tourney game in a regular old high school gym… what a shame

IYKYK-maybe the best moment for players & coach, lucky enough to make a Final 4 👉1st time Walking into that “arena” & realizing U made it- every final four team deserves that feel 14 will get that experience next week in finals, hopeful 28 get that chance again in ‘26 good luck

Hey WB Athletics what’s the nonsense I’m hearing about board letting coach DeShields go? Ohio ‘24 winner of integrity/ethics award. Twelve 20+ win seasons n past 15 years. Owned the EBC, multiple trips to regionals/states. Sure hope this disturbing news is false. Shameful if true

Unbelievable incompetence has struck Ohio high school girls basketball as WB Athletics have let go one of the best coaches in the states history, one of the most respected, most liked coaches in the business, Walt DeShields. After I speak to Walt I will be putting out a statement

Kevin Lower WB Athletics How can you honestly make a move like this and say with a straight face that it is what is best for the program and its student-athletes? Coach DeShields is WIDELY respected. For the time he has put into that school district, he certainly deserves better.

Getting more of the Deshields non renewal at West Branch BOEMom wants AAU coach. A career Hs winning coach who many believe would have won the state title in covid shut down getting screwed by BOE member who wants her daughter to play more. This can happen to any coach!!!

This is an absolute stun and needs to be completely rethought by the school considering the amount of sustained success Coach DeShields’ has had in 20 seasons at West Branch.

20 years WB Athletics school, prestigious ethics/integrity award, no scandals, no losing seasons, no complaints of bullying players, multiple trips to state final 4, & 20+ wins in 12 of last 15 seasons (including last two years). No wonder they don’t have a reason to share. Sad

The more I read Into this situation over at WB Athletics the more I’m starting to think that the AD was forced to send the comment/press release to the media about Coach DeShields. I believe the AD is Ryan Wolf and he is a first-year AD and…

I also find it interesting that the board member who “allegedly” started all this, works at the same business of one of the highest donors in the district. A donor that was gonna pay for a turf field and track. And hearing that the money was put on hold by the donor…
