This series of photo comparisons show the timelessness of Clones. I'll release daily over Lent and Easter. My sincere thanks to P. Brady who owns the John McCabe photos and JPEGs of postcards. All modern photos are taken by Hugh-Patrick Tunney. #visitClones Photo(right): Hugh-Patrick Tunney

John McCabe was a local photographer (his residence below). His photos were kept by his family and were digitally preserved by the current owner. The photos he took are from the late 60s. #visitClones Clones 1960s vs Now Photo(right): Hugh-Patrick Tunney

@TheClonesLad inquired about the McCurtain St. bridge. I said I would post a photo of it. It was a canal bridge that was lowered. When the Canal Reopens I assume there may have to be a new bridge built to accommodate the barges. #visitClones Phto Source: (Left F. McPhilips)

Clones 1960s vs Today According to the Clones Heritage plan, some people call Clones Ireland's Time Capsule. If this town was in Germany, Italy or France this would be cherished but here it's mostly ignored. #moretoMonaghan #OldClonesPhoto #visitClones Photo: (Right) Hugh-Patrick Tunney
