Jesus said to his disciple Peter, "And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it." (Matthew 16:18). The term Christian was given to Jesus' followers later (after his crucifixion).

It seems that the majority of the problems we see in our modern society are because we have lost the fear of God. "The fear of the Lord adds length to life, but the years of the wicked are cut short." Proverbs 10:27 NIV

He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?” (Genesis 3:1) This is Satan's oldest trick... to get us to doubt God's word! It is subtle but lethal. Don't fall for his deception.

Atheist: “There's no God” Agnostic: “There might be a God” Humanist: “Let's remove God” Pornography: “Sex is God” Greed: “Money is God” Pride: “I am God” Government: “Power is God” Bible: “Jesus is God” There's a lot of opinions about God, but only one Truth. Stick to the Bible.

Let's not focus so much on "going to church" in order to be in God's presence, but instead, "being the church" in order to carry God's presence to others.

The Day of Pentecost started in Exodus 32, when Moses brought the law (Old Covenant) down from the mountain to the Israelites. God judged 3,000 of them because because of idol worship! The New Covenant also began on the Day of Pentecost, where 3,000 believers were saved by God!

Marriage is between a man and a woman, according to Jesus, to become one flesh. And ultimately, according to Genesis, the reason for that is procreation. That's one of the primary reasons for marriage, to bring forth the next generation, to bring forth children.

Many churches assert that sprinkling a baby without their faith cleanses them of sin. Others assert that baptism has no spiritual value, it is merely a symbol, and is optional for a new believer. I can't find either of these extremes practiced by the New Testament church.
