Despite the mud, we had some outstanding performances at the Tolefree-Farley Invite on Saturday- Safiya Douglas & Asha Maclin with nearly 3 minute PRs, Itzel Nunez-Rosario 80 seconds, Nathalia Bravo & Cristen Clazton with nearly a minute, and Ginger Wilford-Holley with a 3:43 PR!

Captain Tolani Babawale has been an incredible runner of the week this week, and she capped it off with a 27 second PR at the Jimmy Daniels Invite by breaking 21 for the first time with a 20:58. Keep it up, T!

Our Varsity squad took 4th place at the Jimmy Daniels Invite yesterday by running 6 LIFETIME PRs! Led by freshman Makayla who broke 20 for the first time ever with a 19:34, Mattie & Tolani broke 21, Barrington 22, Itzel 24, and Anika a 39 second PR!!

Our Fresh/Soph crew was 5 for 5 with LIFETIME PRs at Jimmy Daniels!! Led by freshmen Asha Maclin & Safiya Douglas who ran 2:35 & 2:39 PRs, Ginger followed with 1:14, Cristen who broke 30 minutes with 3:01, and Nathalia with 60 seconds, all ran absolutely stellar races. Congrats!

It’s all coming together for the Vikings! Our medalists included Makayla Shulman- Varsity (4) and freshmen Asha Maclin & Safiya Douglas (24 & 25). Sophomore Lilia Abramcyzk had to sit out due to a hip strain, but she wanted to speak her pride to the team!

The Vikings had a great Saturday at the SWSC Championship hosted by Lockport TrackXC . Led by top finisher Makayla Shulman, Tolani Babawale, Carrington Hughes, Jerni Mahone, Eryn Mason, Izzy Davies, Nathalia Bravo, & Cristen Claxton all ran lifetime PRs!

Last week we celebrated Anika Izenbart as our Runner of the Week! She has proven to be a valued leader and member of the team on and off the course.

This crew accomplished some great things at the Regional Meet! While some were unhappy with the outcome, they demonstrated incredible growth, took risks, and improved in their overall race sense & technique. Be proud, Vikings!

Our 3 individual qualifiers ran amazing races at the Sectional Meet last weekend! We’re beyond excited that our underclassmen got this experience, and we’re grateful for Mattie’s senior leadership.
