Yes, the French fiddle that joined my collection as my 'session' fiddle has now become my favourite fiddle. Loud, mellow, and very easy to play!

Sitting enjoying a cuppa when there's a twang sound from the far end of the room that every fiddle player dreads. Yup, fiddle decided to snap a string all by itself, where the ball joins. Luckily both fiddles have the same brand so I'm nabbing D string from the other one for now.

Just like the people involved, this album is absolutely gorgeous! I bought it on it's first release at one of Eliza Carthy MBE's gigs and love it! Do buy it.

One remaining song melody to compose and then I've all the tracks I need for the next release. It started out as an EP but with 10 tracks, I guess that makes it an album?! 'Just' arrangements, recording, mixing and mastering to go after that!

15 year old son went to Iceland on a geography field trip in February and, although he saw a volcano erupting, he didn't see the Northern Lights/Aurora Borealis. Luckily tonight they showed themselves outside our house! #northernlights ##auroraborealis

I remember being told years ago that a 6/4 time signature was unusual. That person had clearly never been near folk tunes. After all, Playford has loads. Although I love playing and hearing them, I find it's easier to learn them by ear than by my limited ability at reading them!
