Our Wrestling team continues to improve! Here are some results from last nights event in Hudson: Grason Weber 1st Place Braeden Romero 2nd Place Matt Dexter 3rd Place Erik Dexter 6th Place Tanner Craft wrestles today in Hudson. Go Hawks!

Had a kid recently quit wrestling to focus on another sport. Didn’t do a damn thing for said sport all winter. This is the norm and the reality of “specialization”. The rarity is the guy who actually uses all that extra time to hone his craft, lift, etc.

You’ll never see this ankle pick coming!

I had starting writing to the kids stepping on the mat this morning and then realized this says it all. So I’m posting it again in hopes those kids and teams listen and take a minute to appreciate the opportunity to wrestle one more day. Step out there and know.

Taking a break from college basketball. Turning my attention over to some college wrestling.

It’s Insane That A Couple Of Neck Bearded Friendship Lottery Recipients (Who Rode The Success Of Portnoy Without Ever Accomplishing A Single Thing Athletically Themselves) Decided To Dunk On A Woman During Heartbreak. And The Kicker Is Spencer Is A Barstool Athlete And Great Kid.

Just yesterday a coach threw a brick just a little too late and the refs said you lost your challenge. Cael throws the brick 30 seconds after the action and they go reverse the call. You can’t tell me there isn’t bias in the reffing at the NCAA Wrestling Championships.

The uncertainty of sports is stress, but the uncertainty is joy. Without it we are just watching a movie on repeat. The highs and lows are a package deal. As a coach, the heartbreak is worth it all if you help one person be better. At sports, at life. No risk, no courage.

It’s been a pleasure.
