This is very, very true! Commuting by cycle gives you energy and motivation; it doesn’t drain you unlike some congestion machines one might mention. Celebrate #WorldCarFreeDay!

Just a regular reminder, and to paraphrase @lennartnout -- traffic lights are mainly a traffic management feature which has been confused as safety features. This isn't how you design safe roads.

Adding a tunnel for school commuters near MHS does not have to be a summer-long task! If a spacious and top-quality one like this can be done with a weekend, a smaller one should be possible while barely disrupting traffic.

Bicycle Helmets are clearly a very important safety tool, but in a good city they should not be necessary. The hierarchy of control marks PPE like helmets as ‘least effective: so maybe it’s time to focus on the other four ways we can make cycling safer in our cities.

In most of America, it is effectively illegal for our older adults to do their shopping without a car. -They can't live near family due to the lack of multifamily housing -They can't live walking distance to stores because of euclidean zoning -Transit is sparse to nonexistent

Cycle infrastructure is fundamentally more compatible with nature than the equivalent for cars, something directly enabled by the small scale at which bicycles exist.

Some assume more cars mean more business. But most of those cars are just passing through. There is a better way to build a commercial street.

The Netherlands just invested $1.15 billion in expanding their already world-class cycling infrastructure network. www-fietsersbond-nl.translate.goog/nieuws/ruim-mi…… Meanwhile, many parts of Minnesota can’t even claim to have functional crosswalks. We need action now.🚲‼️

In a nationwide crisis of obesity and related conditions like heart disease, one of the most promising solutions is cycling. Cities need to work hard to ensure that cycling is encouraged as much as possible, for the sake of the future of our society. 🚲🏙 Take action!🏙🚲
