Today is #IndigenousDay – a day to celebrate Indigenous Peoples and the role of Indigenous knowledge and practices in stewarding the environment and combatting climate change.

This year on #InternationalDayoftheWorldsIndigenousPeople we are thinking about "The role of indigenous women in the preservation and transmission of traditional knowledge". We must fight the racism, dehumanization and poverty they suffer every day.

#IndigenousDay For generations, Indigenous societies have preserved knowledge of the natural world and have made it part of their culture and spirituality. Their way of life is through an harmonious relationship with Mother Earth and all living beings.

We need to think of each other as sisters and brothers, and to be concerned with each other’s welfare. We must seek to lessen the suffering of others. Rather than working to acquire wealth, we need to do something meaningful, directed toward the welfare of humanity as a whole.
