It was a joy to be back at @ Kings' Education Kings’ School Dubai today to work with the specialist teachers. I am endlessly fascinated by what is universal good practice in any classroom and I love being challenged to adapt my strategies to specialist subjects.

Today, it was lovely to be invited back to GEMS CIA Abu Dhabi The focus of the day was team teaching and active demonstration of my methods in action. I worked with more than 20 teachers throughout the day and co-delivered two lessons: year one maths and yr 10 science! #schools

As sun sets on #MESLC 2025, I’m left with some beautiful memories of a great event. Fab to catch up with Professor Rob Coe again and to hear him talking about the subject closest to my heart: why teaching matters the most. Thank you once again Leisa Grace Wilson #speaker

Instead of providing students with a correct model answer, commonly known as a WAGOLL, provide them with an anonymous, substandard answer (a WASOLL) instead. Challenge pupils to: - Identify the mistakes - Correct the mistakes - Replicate this process when editing their own work

All pupils begin standing up. They can only sit down once they have suggested a success criterion. If numbers are an issue, allow pupils to work in twos or threes. If pupils are struggling, allow them a lifeline such as 'pass it to the class' or 'phone a friend'.

'On a Roll' brings a more relaxed feel to work, especially revision. Invite pupils to cover rolls of paper with representations of their current learning in a style of their choice. Put the rolls away and reintroduce them later to check what they have remembered. #revision
