I do find all this rather odious. The RS Archer account has been thoroughly debunked. I’m not quite sure what the end game is here, but I’m not a big fan of lying. thecritic.co.uk/the-curious-ca…

It’s been a poor season for mushroom foraging down my way; however this haul of hedgehogs (H. repandum) and winter chanterelles (C. tubaeformis) made the dog walk very worthwhile! #foraging #mushrooms

A veg that’s far, far easier to do than many think - and incredibly versatile. I’ve had great success growing beetroot in pots, harvesting some young leaves for salad as they grow as well. Fantastic healthy produce that can be grown for mere pennies.

It’s that magical time of the year where my chillies enjoy 10 hours in the greenhouse during the day, and the good lady gets incredibly annoyed as they enjoy their night on the breakfast bar 🤣

It is of course wild garlic (ransoms) season across the UK. As a fine meal, this is a sauce made from wild garlic, butter, flour and milk with prawns and a good sourdough. A lovely way to eat and enjoy the early spring sun! 🌞

Eldest child has developed a taste for alcoholic ginger beer. So, because we can, we’ve started a ginger beer plant - a LOT of ginger and a 🌶️!

Channelling the incipient Conclave 🤣 Pizza on the wood fired oven tonight, to celebrate the joy of being able to eat outdoors in warmth. I hope everyone is having a wonderful evening.

Beautiful chanterelles- here C. cibarius. It’s really quite early for these, but the dry late April - May and then a bit of damp has worked wonders. These are a relatively easy to ID wild #mushroom if #foraging and definitely high table dining.

Amongst other things, the wild hazelnuts seem to be doing well. Admittedly it’s always a race against the squirrels 🐿️ with these - but they’re do have their uses when immature.

Cantharellus cibarius, the common yellow chanterelle. Reasonably easy to identify and the lookalike in the UK (the false chanterelle) isn’t particularly a problem. High table dining for free #foraging #freefood #mushrooms
