We are very sad to hear that Claire Powell has died. The much loved mezzo-soprano appeared in numerous Glyndebourne productions in the 1970s and 1980s. She will be greatly missed.

We are very sad to learn that Nicholas Folwell has died.

Nicholas made his Glyndebourne debut in 1990, and played numerous roles over the years, including 80 performances as Antonio in Le nozze di Figaro.

He will be greatly missed.

We are very sad to hear that composer Peter Eötvös has died. In 2008 his acclaimed opera Love and Other Demons received its world premiere at Glyndebourne. He also conducted Janáček's The Makropulos Case here in 2001.
